Teaching Assistant - Secondary School

Full-Time | 8:30am - 4:30pm Monday to Friday

We are currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in the Peterlee area. This role involves supporting students both inside and outside of the classroom, helping them to engage with learning and achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to deliver high-quality support and help create a positive learning environment for all pupils.

Responsibilities

Supporting students in lessons across various subjects
Working with small groups and individual pupils
Encouraging engagement and participation
Assisting with classroom management
Supporting students with additional learning needs
Helping to build confidence and resilience

We Are Looking For

Excellent communication skills
A proactive and enthusiastic attitude
A genuine interest in supporting young people
Ability to build positive relationships
Experience working with children is desirable but not essential

This role would be ideal for graduates, youth workers, sports coaches, carers, or those looking to start a career in education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
