An internationally acclaimed company that specialise in the design and manufacture of rail engineering technology is looking to hire a Sales & Logistics Administrator to join their team in Plymouth.
As Sales and Logistic Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the logistics and supply chain operation by ensuring the efficient coordination and movement of goods, maintaining accurate records and documentation, and facilitating effective communication between internal stakeholders and external logistics providers. The position is critical to delivering high levels of customer service, controlling operational costs, and ensuring compliance with UK and international transportation, customs, and regulatory requirements.
In addition to core logistics responsibilities, the role requires a flexible and proactive approach to providing administrative support to the Sales department, helping to meet temporary increases in workload and ensuring continuity of business operations where required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and administrate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely collection and delivery
- Prepare, check, and maintain logistics documentation (e.g. delivery notes, invoices, consignment notes, export/import paperwork where required)
- Liaise with transport providers, freight forwarders, and couriers to arrange shipments and resolve issues
- Monitor delivery schedules and proactively communicate delays or discrepancies to relevant stakeholders
- Maintain accurate records within logistics reports and ERP
- Support stock movements, reconciliations, and inventory accuracy in collaboration with warehouse teams
- Process delivery confirmations, and create customer invoices
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, health & safety, and relevant UK transport regulations
- Respond to internal and external queries related to deliveries and logistics data
- Produce regular reports on logistics performance, KPIs, and costs
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics and supply chain function
Skills and Competencies required for the Sales & Logistic Administrator role
- Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience working with ERP or logistics systems (e.g. Insight 123) Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach
Knowledge and Experience
- Previous experience in a logistics, supply chain, or administrative role
- Understanding of basic logistics and transport processes
- Experience working with data, documentation, and deadlines
Desirable
- Knowledge of UK transport legislation or international shipping procedures
- Experience with import/export documentation (Incoterms, customs paperwork) Logistics or supply chain qualification
Salary: Circa £28,000 and £30,000 plus package including;
