The Architectural Technician Role

A well-established regional housebuilder based in Yorkshire is looking to appoint an Architectural Technician to join its Technical team.

This is a hands-on role suited to an Architectural Technician with experience working on housebuilding projects, who is confident using AutoCAD and enjoys producing detailed technical drawings for residential developments.

You will support the preparation and development of working drawings, assist with standard and bespoke house type information and work closely with the wider Technical and Construction teams to help ensure drawings are accurate, compliant and buildable.

Key Responsibilities of the Architectural Technician

• Producing and updating architectural drawings using AutoCAD
• Assisting with standard and bespoke house type design
• Supporting projects from planning through to construction
• Ensuring drawings comply with Building Regulations and NHBC standards
• Coordinating architectural information with engineering and structural details
• Responding to technical queries and supporting live residential projects

Key Requirements of the Architectural Technician

• Minimum 2 years' experience working on housebuilding projects
• Strong AutoCAD proficiency
• Experience producing technical drawings for residential developments
• Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and NHBC standards
• Relevant architectural or construction-related qualification
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work as part of a technical team
