The Role

As Assistant Nursery Manager, you will work alongside the Nursery Manager to ensure the nursery delivers exceptional standards of care, education, and safeguarding. You will help lead the staff team, support the smooth running of the setting, and play a key role in maintaining a positive and nurturing environment for children, families, and colleagues.

Essential Requirements

✅ Level 3 Early Years Qualification (or above) - Essential

✅ Previous experience working within a nursery or Early Years setting

✅ Experience as a Senior Practitioner, Room Leader, Third-in-Charge, or similar position

✅ Strong knowledge of the EYFS Framework

✅ Excellent understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

✅ Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day running of the nursery
• Lead and motivate staff to deliver outstanding childcare and early years education
• Ensure all children receive high-quality learning opportunities in line with the EYFS
• Monitor observations, assessments, and planning across the nursery
• Support staff development through coaching, mentoring, and supervision
• Build and maintain positive relationships with parents and carers
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies
• Step into the Manager's role when required
