The Role

As Deputy Nursery Manager, you will work closely with the Nursery Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and education are consistently maintained. You will lead by example, support staff development, and help create a positive environment where children can thrive.

Essential Requirements

✅ Level 3 Early Years Qualification (minimum requirement)

✅ Previous experience working within a nursery or Early Years setting

✅ Experience in a senior practitioner, room leader, deputy manager, or leadership role

✅ Strong knowledge of the EYFS Framework

✅ Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures

✅ Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Nursery Manager with the daily operation of the nursery
• Lead and motivate staff to deliver exceptional childcare and education
• Monitor children's progress and ensure EYFS standards are met
• Conduct observations, assessments, and support planning for learning and development
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and compliance
• Build strong relationships with children, parents, carers, and external professionals
• Assist with staff supervision, training, and performance management
• Act as the Nursery Manager in their absence
