About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Mathematics Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Rotherham. The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering high-quality mathematics education, inspiring students to develop confidence in numeracy, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 experience is desirable).
• Create a positive and stimulating learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
• Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school policies.
• Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and effective classroom management.
• Support students in developing mathematical reasoning, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations.
• Contribute to the development of the Mathematics curriculum and departmental initiatives.
• Participate in intervention programmes, revision sessions, and extracurricular activities where appropriate.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
• Strong subject knowledge of the Mathematics curriculum.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Previous teaching experience is desirable; ECTs are encouraged to apply.
