About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of a major infrastructure project.
Reporting to the Project Director, you will take overall responsibility for project performance, leading multidisciplinary teams and acting as the primary representative for the business across all project matters.
Working closely with clients, consultants, supply chain partners and internal stakeholders, you will oversee project delivery, programme performance, commercial outcomes, compliance and team management to ensure project objectives are achieved.
The key responsibilities for this Project Manager role are:
- Lead the project team in the successful delivery of all aspects of the project.
- Act as the primary representative for the business on project matters.
- Take responsibility for overall project performance and business outcomes.
- Support subcontractor and supplier procurement activities.
- Review subcontracts, orders and associated agreements prior to approval.
- Identify future business opportunities and communicate them to relevant internal teams.
- Represent the project in dealings with clients, external organisations and stakeholders.
- Manage project change processes in accordance with contractual and company requirements.
- Support the delivery of wider business objectives, strategies and initiatives.
- Assist business development and work-winning activities when required.
- Lead project compliance and promote best practice across all project functions.
- Manage project opportunities and risk processes.
- Oversee the production, review and updating of project programmes.
- Identify programme variances and implement improvement plans.
- Manage project staffing requirements, budgets and recruitment activities.
- Oversee staff performance reviews, development and training requirements.
- Implement relevant HR processes and procedures where required.
- Communicate project requirements and objectives to project teams.
- Set and monitor performance targets across project functions.
- Promote and monitor health, safety, environmental, sustainability and quality standards.
- Ensure actions arising from accidents, incidents and near misses are completed.
- Review and approve project management system plans and ensure compliance.
- Produce or oversee the production of project reports, forecasts and improvement plans.
- Ensure project records and documentation are maintained within document control systems.
- Capture and share innovation, lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience required for this Project Manager role are:
- Detailed knowledge of project delivery within a construction or infrastructure environment.
- Detailed knowledge of contractual and commercial requirements.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams
- Experience managing project programmes, performance and delivery.
- Experience managing project risks and opportunities.
- Experience working with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
- Experience overseeing health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.
- Experience producing and reviewing project reports, forecasts and performance information.
Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Project Manager role are:
- Good understanding of client and stakeholder interests.
