The Opportunity - Architectural Technical Lead

We are supporting a key global consultancy with an expanding Data Centre portfolio across APAC, looking to appoint a Architectural Technical Lead in Singapore.

This is a senior position for an architect or architectural professional who can operate beyond traditional design responsibilities and take ownership of technical coordination, design quality, stakeholder management and delivery.

You will work across the project lifecycle, coordinating architectural design with engineering disciplines, consultants and contractors while providing technical direction and helping drive practical, buildable solutions.

Typical Responsibilities - Architectural Technical Lead 

• Lead architectural technical discussions across complex Data Centre projects.
• Review architectural designs, drawings, specifications and technical submissions.
• Assess design solutions against technical, programme and delivery requirements.
• Challenge architectural solutions where appropriate and drive practical outcomes.
• Lead architectural coordination across structural, civil, MEP, telecoms and specialist disciplines.
• Coordinate architects, consultants, contractors and wider project stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve design interfaces, coordination issues and technical risks.
• Provide technical input into constructability and construction delivery.
• Take ownership of major architectural packages and technical workstreams.
• Support design development from concept through detailed design and construction.
• Review technical documentation and design submissions.
• Engage directly with senior client and project stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership and direction to consultants and project teams.
• Help ensure architectural solutions are coordinated, technically robust and deliverable.

What We’re Looking For - Architectural Technical Lead 

• Strong architectural background with substantial experience on complex projects.
• Proven Data Centre, hyperscale, colocation, mission-critical or similarly complex project experience.
• Strong technical understanding of architectural design and building delivery.
• Experience reviewing and coordinating architectural designs and technical submissions.
• Experience leading architectural packages, design teams, consultants or technical workstreams.
• Strong multidisciplinary coordination experience.
• Understanding of construction methodology and buildability.
• Experience working closely with contractors or construction delivery teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable engaging directly with senior clients and project stakeholders.
• Experience working within large, complex and fast-paced project environments.

Key Success Factors - Architectural Technical Lead 

This role will suit an architectural professional who has moved beyond a predominantly design-production position and has developed into a technical and project-facing leader.

You should be comfortable and confident in coordinating multiple disciplines, challenging design decisions, managing interfaces and understanding how architectural decisions affect programme and construction.

Experience within Data Centres or other mission-critical environments is highly desirable.
