The Opportunity - Civil Technical Lead

We are supporting a key global consultancy with a expanding Data Centre portfolio across APAC and are looking to appoint a Civil Technical Lead in Singapore.

Sitting at the point where technical design, multidisciplinary coordination and project delivery meet, this is an exciting opportunity to work across flagship Data Centre projects. 

You will work closely with design consultants, contractors, project teams and senior client stakeholders.

Typical Responsibilities - Civil Technical Lead

• Lead civil technical discussions across complex Data Centre projects and packages.
• Review civil engineering designs, drawings, specifications and technical submissions.
• Assess and challenge proposed technical solutions where appropriate.
• Lead coordination of civil design with structural, architectural, MEP, utilities and other disciplines.
• Coordinate civil consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve design, infrastructure and interface issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical input into site development, infrastructure, drainage, roads, access and associated civil works.
• Consider constructibility, sequencing and the practical delivery of civil solutions.
• Take ownership of significant civil packages and technical work streams.
• Support technical decision-making across design development and construction.
• Work directly with senior client and project stakeholders on civil engineering matters.
• Provide technical leadership to consultants and wider project teams.
• Help ensure civil solutions meet programme, quality, technical and delivery requirements.

What We’re Looking For - Civil Technical Lead

• Strong civil engineering background with significant experience on complex projects.
• Proven experience within Data Centres, hyper scale, collocation, mission-critical or similarly complex infrastructure environments.
• Strong technical knowledge across civil engineering and site development.
• Experience reviewing, assessing and challenging civil design solutions.
• Experience leading civil design packages, technical work streams, consultants or teams.
• Strong multidisciplinary coordination experience.
• Understanding of constructibility and the transition from design into construction.
• Experience working alongside main contractors or construction delivery teams.
• Confident stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Comfortable engaging with senior clients, consultants and contractors.
• Experience working on large-scale, technically complex projects.

Key Success Factors - Civil Technical Lead

You will be a technically credible civil engineering professional who has progressed beyond a purely design-focused position and has taken ownership of technical coordination, packages and delivery outcomes.

Yo'll be comfortable moving between detailed engineering discussions and the wider project picture, with the confidence to challenge design decisions, identify risks and bring different project stakeholders together to reach practical solutions.

Data Centre experience is particularly important, although experience within other highly complex, mission-critical infrastructure environments may also be relevant.
