The Opportunity - Structural Technical Lead

We are supporting a key global consultancy with an expanding Data Centre portfolio across APAC, looking to appoint a Structural Technical Lead in Singapore.

This is a senior technical position for a structural engineering professional who can combine deep technical expertise with design leadership, stakeholder management and delivery focused thinking.

You will sit between design and construction, providing technical leadership on exciting flagship Data Centre projects.

Typical Responsibilities - Structural Technical Lead

• Lead structural technical discussions across complex Data Centre projects and packages.
• Review structural designs, drawings, specifications and technical submissions.
• Assess and challenge structural solutions where appropriate.
• Identify technical risks, design gaps and opportunities for improvement.
• Coordinate structural consultants, contractors and wider project stakeholders.
• Lead structural design coordination with architectural, civil, MEP and other disciplines.
• Identify and resolve structural design and interface issues.
• Provide technical input into constructability and construction delivery.
• Take ownership of major structural packages and technical workstreams.
• Support technical decision-making throughout design development and construction.
• Engage directly with senior client stakeholders and project teams.
• Provide technical leadership and direction to consultants and project teams.
• Help ensure structural solutions align with programme, quality, technical and delivery requirements.

What We’re Looking For - Structural Technical Lead

• Strong structural engineering background with substantial complex-project experience.
• Proven experience within Data Centres, hyperscale, colocation, mission-critical or similarly complex environments.
• Strong technical knowledge and the ability to independently review structural design solutions.
• Experience leading structural teams, design packages, consultants or technical workstreams.
• Demonstrable multidisciplinary design coordination experience.
• Strong understanding of constructability and design-to-construction delivery.
• Main contractor or construction team exposure.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Comfortable leading technical discussions and challenging design solutions.
• Experience engaging with senior clients, consultants and contractors.
• Experience working on major projects where technical coordination and delivery are critical.

Key Success Factors - Structural Technical Lead

The strongest candidates will have progressed beyond a purely design-focused role and will have taken ownership of technical packages, design coordination and delivery outcomes.

Technically credible enough to challenge consultants and design decisions, but commercially and operationally aware enough to understand the impact those decisions have on programme, construction and the wider project.

Experience on hyperscale or colocation Data Centres is highly relevant, particularly where you have been involved in both design development and construction delivery.
