This is a varied and rewarding role, with mornings spent supporting in class, including delivering phonics groups, and afternoons covering lessons across the school.

The contract runs until 31st August 2027, with a strong possibility of extension.

Why this school?

  • Lives and breathes strong, shared values across the whole school community
  • Is supportive, welcoming, and collaborative, no lone wolves here
  • Has engaged, enthusiastic pupils who love learning
  • Balances academic success with nurture, creating a happy, inclusive environment

  • Offers a thoughtfully designed curriculum and well-resourced learning spaces
  • Provides a local government pension scheme

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting teaching and learning in class each morning
  • Delivering daily phonics sessions and targeted interventions
  • Covering whole classes in the afternoons across EYFS and KS1
  • Working closely with teachers to help children make strong progress
  • Supporting children with a range of additional needs
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, families, and staff
  • Contributing to a consistent, team-led approach to learning and behaviour

You’ll also be part of regular team meetings, liaising with parents and professionals, and stepping in to support during teacher absence when needed.

What we’re looking for

You’re someone who:

  • Loves working with children and wants to help them thrive
  • Can confidently lead small groups and whole-class sessions
  • Brings energy, patience, and a positive outlook
  • Thinks on your feet and supports learning in the moment
  • Builds strong, trusting relationships with children and families
  • Works well as part of a team and contributes to a shared vision
  • Adapts your approach to meet different needs and reflects on your practice
  • Champions and celebrates children’s achievements

Experience delivering phonics, particularly Read, Write, Inc., and previous whole-class teaching experience would be a real bonus.

The details

  • Hours: Flexible, based on 8.30 - 15.30 each day
  • Contract: Term time only + 5 INSET days
  • Start: September 2026
