1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – South Shields

Do you have experience working closely with children who need additional support?

Protocol Education are recruiting experienced Teaching Assistants for 1:1 and small-group support roles across South Shields.

These positions would suit a qualified TA who enjoys building strong relationships and providing consistent, personalised support.

The Role

You may be supporting a pupil who requires additional help with:

• Learning
• Communication
• Social interaction
• Emotional regulation
• Behaviour
• Independence
• Classroom engagement

You'll work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to ensure the pupil can access learning and feel supported throughout the school day.

We're Looking For Someone Who:

• Has a recognised TA qualification or strong relevant experience
• Has previous experience supporting children
• Understands the importance of consistency and routine
• Can build trusting relationships
• Is patient, calm and encouraging
• Can adapt their approach to individual needs
• Is confident working independently when required

Experience with SEND, autism, SEMH or complex needs would be highly beneficial.
