PMLD Teaching Assistant - South Shields

Location: South Shields
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:30am - 4:30pm | Friday 8:30am - 4:00pm
Contract: Full-Time

We are recruiting a compassionate and dedicated PMLD Teaching Assistant to support students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties within a specialist educational setting.

This role is incredibly rewarding and offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people with complex needs.

Responsibilities

Supporting pupils with complex learning difficulties and physical disabilities
Assisting with personal care where required
Supporting communication and sensory activities
Encouraging engagement and independence
Working alongside teachers, therapists, and support staff
Supporting students with mobility and daily living skills

We're Looking For

A nurturing and patient individual
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
Experience in care, SEND, health care, or education is advantageous
A driver would be beneficial due to the location and transport requirements

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
