Protocol Education are recruiting an SEMH Sports Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist provision in South Shields.

The pupils may have behavioural difficulties, low confidence, emotional regulation needs or barriers to learning. Your role will be to help them feel supported, engaged and capable of succeeding.

What You'll Do

• Support pupils with SEMH needs
• Build strong and consistent relationships
• Use sport and activity to engage pupils
• Support classroom learning
• Assist with PE
• Work 1:1 and in small groups
• Encourage positive behaviour
• Support emotional regulation
• Mentor pupils
• Promote teamwork and resilience
• Encourage positive choices
• Support pupils throughout the school day

We're looking for someone who is:

You don't necessarily need to be a qualified TA. Experience working with young people through sport, coaching, youth work, care, education or behaviour support can be just as valuable.

Progression to Permanent

There is potential for the successful candidate to progress into a permanent position with the school.

Driving

A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle would be highly advantageous.

Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm
