Unqualified Supply Teacher / Cover Supervisor - Stockton-on-Tees

Protocol Education is working in partnership with a range of supportive and welcoming secondary schools across Stockton-on-Tees to recruit Unqualified Supply Teachers and Cover Supervisors.

No previous teaching qualifications or school experience are required. We provide all the training and support you need to succeed. A driving licence is advantageous but not essential.

We're looking for individuals who are confident, approachable, resilient, and able to build positive relationships with young people. Graduates are encouraged to apply, although a degree is not essential.

What Does the Role Involve?

As an Unqualified Supply Teacher / Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4 in the absence of the regular teacher
  • Deliver pre-planned lessons and ensure students complete the work provided
  • Maintain a positive, productive, and well-managed learning environment
  • Support students to remain engaged and focused throughout lessons
  • Follow school behaviour policies and established classroom routines
  • Build strong relationships with students and staff across the school

You won't be expected to teach new content. The role focuses on classroom management, confidence, organisation, and ensuring students remain on task.

Working Pattern

  • Flexible work available from 2 to 5 days per week
  • Full-time opportunities readily available across Stockton schools
  • Short-term, long-term, temporary-to-permanent, and permanent positions available
  • Most bookings arranged in advance, with some same-day opportunities
  • Placements matched to your preferred travel areas whenever possible
