

Behaviour Support Assistant

Some young people don’t need stricter rules — they need the right support, consistency, and someone who genuinely believes in them.
We’re recruiting Behaviour Support Assistants to work in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) supporting children and young people who are currently unable to access mainstream education due to behavioural, emotional or social challenges.
This is a role for someone resilient, patient, and able to build trust with pupils who may have experienced significant barriers to learning.
What your day might look like:
Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups
Helping students regulate emotions and manage behaviour positively
De-escalating challenging situations using a calm approach
Encouraging engagement in learning and social development
Who we’re looking for:
People with strong behaviour management or transferable skills
Those with experience in youth work, coaching, care or support work
Calm, confident individuals who can build meaningful relationships

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
