Protocol Education are recruiting Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistants to support pupils within SEN settings across Sunderland.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates considering a future career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Teaching, SEND, Mental Health, Speech & Language Therapy or Social Work.

The Role

You could be supporting pupils with:

  • Autism
  • ADHD
  • SEMH
  • Learning difficulties
  • Communication needs
  • Behavioural needs
  • Complex additional needs

Your day could involve:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support
  • Supporting pupils to access learning
  • Encouraging positive behaviour
  • Supporting emotional regulation
  • Delivering interventions
  • Building positive relationships
  • Helping pupils develop confidence and independence
  • Working alongside teachers and SEND professionals

What We're Looking For

  • A degree in Psychology or a related subject
  • Genuine interest in working with children and young people
  • Strong communication skills
  • Patient and approachable personality
  • Resilience and a willingness to learn
  • Previous experience with children is advantageous but not essential
