Salary: £31,650–£51,048 per annum / PAYE, dependent on experience and qualifications

Protocol Education are currently recruiting for a SEN Teacher to join a specialist setting in Sunderland on a full-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who wants to work in an environment where relationships, individual progress and pupil wellbeing are just as important as academic achievement.

You will be responsible for creating an engaging and supportive classroom environment where pupils feel safe, valued and encouraged to achieve their potential.

The role will involve:

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons
  • Adapting teaching to meet individual learning needs
  • Supporting pupils with a range of SEND
  • Developing personalised learning opportunities
  • Setting and assessing appropriate learning outcomes
  • Monitoring and recording pupil progress
  • Supporting EHCP outcomes and individual targets
  • Promoting positive behaviour and engagement
  • Developing pupils' confidence and independence
  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants and support staff
  • Working with parents, carers and other professionals where appropriate
  • Creating a structured and inclusive classroom environment

The setting may support pupils with autism, learning difficulties, communication needs, SEMH and complex SEND, so flexibility and a willingness to adapt your teaching style are essential.

QTS or an appropriate teaching qualification is required, alongside relevant teaching experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
