Pay: £98–£120 per day, depending on experience

Protocol Education are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Sunderland.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys supporting children and young people with additional needs and wants to make a genuine difference to their day-to-day experience of education.

You will work alongside teachers and support staff to provide personalised support, helping pupils access learning while developing their confidence, communication and independence.

The role may involve:

• Supporting pupils with a range of SEND
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support
• Helping pupils access the curriculum
• Supporting literacy and numeracy
• Encouraging communication and social interaction
• Supporting pupils with autism and learning difficulties
• Promoting positive behaviour
• Helping pupils manage emotions
• Encouraging independence
• Supporting transitions throughout the school day
• Working closely with teachers and the wider SEND team
• Supporting pupils during break and lunchtime

We're looking for someone who is patient, reliable, resilient and genuinely passionate about supporting young people.

Previous school or SEND experience is desirable, but we will consider candidates with transferable experience from childcare, care, youth work, sports coaching or support work.
