Protocol Education are recruiting for a Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant to work within a Sunderland school supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone from a sporting, coaching, youth work or mentoring background who wants to take their experience into education.

The Role

You will use sport, physical activity and positive relationships to encourage pupils to engage with school and develop their confidence.

Your day may include:

• Supporting pupils during lessons and activities
• Using sport to build relationships and encourage engagement
• Delivering or supporting physical activities
• Providing 1:1 and small-group mentoring
• Supporting positive behaviour
• Helping pupils manage emotions and frustrations
• Encouraging teamwork, communication and resilience
• Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff
• Acting as a positive role model

Requirements

• Experience working with young people is desirable
• Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for one
