Protocol Education are recruiting Trainee SEND Teaching Assistants across Peterlee and Sunderland.

This is an opportunity to gain paid, hands-on experience while learning how to support pupils with a range of additional needs.

What You'll Be Doing

Depending on the school and pupil, you may:

• Provide 1:1 support
• Work with small groups
• Support pupils with Autism and ADHD
• Help pupils access lessons
• Encourage communication and interaction
• Support emotional regulation
• Promote independence
• Assist with classroom activities
• Support positive behaviour
• Build trusting relationships
• Work closely with teachers and SEN staff

You Don't Need a Teaching Assistant Qualification

We're open to people from a range of backgrounds.

You could have experience in:

Childcare | Care | Sports | Youth Work | Healthcare | Psychology | Support Work | Volunteering

Or you may simply be looking for a career change and want to explore working in education.

We'll provide the training and support to help you develop.

Drivers Advantageous

Drivers with access to their own car are particularly welcome, as this can provide access to a wider range of schools across Peterlee, Sunderland and surrounding areas.

Driving is advantageous, not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
