Classroom Supervisor

Are you looking for a rewarding role in education without needing a formal teaching qualification?

We're looking for Classroom Supervisors to step into schools and keep learning on track when teachers are absent. This is an unqualified classroom-based role, meaning you do not need a PGCE, QTS or any formal teaching qualification to apply.

Whether you've worked in schools, youth work, coaching, mentoring, care work, support roles, or any position involving children and young people, we'd love to hear from you.

As a Classroom Supervisor, you won't be planning lessons, assessing work, or delivering formal teaching. Instead, you'll supervise students as they complete pre-prepared work, maintain a positive learning environment, and ensure the school day runs smoothly.

Both full-time and part-time applications will be considered, and we can work around your availability.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supervising classes using work and lesson materials provided by the teacher
  • Managing behaviour and maintaining clear classroom expectations
  • Supporting students to stay focused, engaged and on task
  • Providing a calm, positive and professional presence in the classroom
  • Working closely with school staff to ensure a smooth learning experience for students

Think confident classroom supervision and guidance, not formal teaching.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people in any capacity, including:
    • Schools
    • Youth work
    • Sports coaching
    • Mentoring
    • Residential or social care
    • Tutoring
    • Community or support work
  • Confidence managing groups and setting clear boundaries
  • A calm, approachable and professional manner
  • Reliability, flexibility and strong communication skills
  • A genuine interest in supporting the development of young people

Qualifications

This is an unqualified role.

You do not need QTS, a PGCE, or any formal teaching qualification to apply.

We welcome applications from anyone with relevant experience working with children or young people and transferable skills that can support successful classroom supervision.
