An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Cost Manager to join a growing project delivery team supporting major infrastructure works within the UK water sector. This role offers the chance to work on high-profile capital projects, providing commercial and cost management expertise throughout the project lifecycle. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring robust cost control, contract administration and commercial governance across a portfolio of complex engineering and construction projects.
The Role
As Cost Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Managing project costs from inception through to completion.
- Providing accurate forecasting, cost reporting and financial analysis.
- Administering and managing contracts, with a strong focus on NEC3 and/or NEC4 forms of contract.
- Supporting change management, compensation events and commercial risk mitigation.
- Working closely with project managers, delivery teams, contractors and client stakeholders.
- Ensuring cost management processes are maintained to the highest standard.
- Producing detailed reports and commercial insights to support project decision-making.
- Contributing to the successful delivery of major infrastructure and utility projects.
About You
We're keen to speak with professionals who can demonstrate:
- Proven experience in a Cost Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Senior QS or Commercial Management capacity.
- Strong working knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts.
- Experience managing costs on engineering, infrastructure, utilities or construction projects.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and mitigate project risks.
- Experience within the water sector would be highly advantageous, although candidates from other regulated infrastructure environments will also be considered.
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline (preferred).
