Location: Tuxford, Nottinghamshire
Salary: Up to £65,000 (DoE & Negotiable)
Working pattern: Full-time, Monday to Friday
The Role
A growing construction and engineering business is seeking a committed Senior Quantity Surveyor to support an increase in workload following the award of several new projects. Based from the Tuxford office, you will play a key role within the commercial function, taking ownership of projects from pre contract through to final account. You will work closely with project and operational teams while helping to strengthen commercial processes as the business scales. The company currently employs around 35 'shop floor' staff, with plans to expand to approximately 85 employees as project volume continues to grow - making this an excellent time to join and progress with the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Full commercial management of projects from inception to completion
- Preparation and management of cost plans, forecasts, CVRs and final accounts
- Managing and valuing variations and change control, predominantly under NEC contracts
- Providing accurate commercial reporting and financial forecasting
- Supporting procurement and subcontractor management
- Managing, mentoring and supporting junior commercial team members
- Working collaboratively with project managers and operational teams
- Attending project sites as required
- Contributing to the ongoing improvement of commercial controls and procedures
About You
- Proven experience at Senior Quantity Surveyor level (or equivalent)
- Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts
- Solid experience with variations, cost planning, forecasting and commercial reporting
- Experience managing or supporting a commercial team
- Precast experience is highly advantageous
- Background in construction, civils and/or rail environments beneficial
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a closely related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Demonstrable project management experience
- Commercially astute, well organised and able to work autonomously
