Senior Planner - Data Centre Construction

Job type: Permanent, full-time

Our client is a leading data centre delivery partner headquartered in Dublin, providing turnkey solutions to clients across Europe. Their service covers the full project lifecycle, from design through to construction and commissioning, across civil, structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical disciplines.
With multiple turnkey projects currently under construction in 7 European countries and over 400MW of IT load in flight, they are one of the most trusted names in the sector and are continuing to expand.
The role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join their team. You will take full ownership of programming and project controls across live, large-scale data centre projects, and act as the Planning representative in client and subcontractor meetings. This is a role with real influence, where your programmes will be read, challenged and acted on at senior level.
Key responsibilities
- Develop bid programmes to support and complement bid submissions
- Develop, maintain and review detailed master construction programmes and project controls procedures for live projects
- Create and sustain schedules for the pre-construction, construction and commissioning phases, keeping progress reporting up to date
- Prepare and present progress reviews to senior management
- Represent Planning in client and subcontractor meetings
- Liaise with stakeholders to review project progress, supporting risk identification and proactive problem solving
- Lead, mentor and motivate a team of ambitious engineers
- Manage relationships with existing clients and build long-term partnerships
- Support business development activity with new clients
- Take full responsibility for your own projects, and support colleagues on other projects as required
Skills and experience
- Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the construction industry, preferably with a main contractor
- Experience with programming software and BIM, with Asta Powerproject and Primavera P6 preferred
- Proactive, results-driven and comfortable working with autonomy
- A strong team player with demonstrable experience in large-scale environments
