Civil Design Manager - Water

Location: Wakefield
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience + package
Contract: Permanent | Contract considered - outside IR35
Hours: 40 hours per week | Predominantly office-based, 5 days per week

 

We are looking for an experienced Civil Design Manager to join our team in Wakefield, leading a multidisciplinary design function across major water and wastewater projects.

 

This is a senior role suited to someone with around 20 years' relevant experience within the water sector, ideally with a strong wastewater background, although candidates with significant clean water experience will also be considered.

 

You will take ownership of the design process end-to-end, leading a multidisciplinary team covering civil and MEICA disciplines, ensuring designs are technically robust, innovative, compliant and delivered to the required standards.

About You

We are looking for someone who is technically strong, commercially aware and switched on, with the confidence to lead people, deal directly with clients and take ownership of complex design requirements.

 

You will ideally have:

• 20+ years' relevant experience within the water sector.
• Chartered status with a relevant professional institution.
• Strong experience in wastewater, although clean water experience will also be considered.
• Significant experience managing multidisciplinary design teams.
• Strong civil engineering design experience, with knowledge of MICA and multidisciplinary interfaces.
• Experience taking designs through the full project lifecycle.
• The authority and technical capability to review, approve and sign off designs.
• Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience contributing to business development
