The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs.
- Support students with Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH needs, and other learning challenges.
- Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement tailored support strategies.
- Encourage pupil engagement, confidence, and independence.
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
- Support pupils academically, socially, and emotionally throughout the school day.
The Ideal Candidate
✔ Experience working with children is desirable
✔ SEN experience is preferred but not essential. The right attitude, patience, and willingness to learn are just as important
✔ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
✔ A calm, positive, and adaptable approach
✔ Passionate about supporting young people to achieve their goals
✔ Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
