BIM Coordinator - Data Centre Projects, Europe

On behalf of our client, a mechanical building services contractor expanding its footprint on data centre developments across Europe, we are recruiting a BIM Coordinator to join the project delivery team on a 27MW hyperscale data centre, located approximately 25 minutes from Frankfurt airport.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain models and reporting outputs in line with company standards.
• Produce general arrangement drawings and detailing sheets.
• Support and help drive the transition from 2D working to full 3D delivery.
• Maintain drawing control processes and keep drawing registers and schedules current.
• Support the rollout of 3D tools with BIM technicians, 4D with project teams, 5D with the estimating function, 6D with operations, and 7D with the FM team.
• Assist with establishing off-site drawing and model storage/control processes.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of BIM protocols and systems, including showcasing BIM capability to external clients and consultants where required.
• Champion the value of BIM internally and support training and mentoring of staff completing training modules.
• Support continuous improvement of the integrated management system, keeping abreast of emerging technology.
• Prepare material procurement schedules and requisition timelines for projects.
• Liaise with subcontractors, client consultants and the main contractor to ensure correct on-site installation.

Requirements

• Third-level qualification or relevant trade background advantageous.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar position.
• Able to build 3D construction models from source data, P&IDs, facility scans and point-cloud data.
• Able to produce construction-level detailing to support automated isometric and BOM generation.
• Experience with clash detection and management across building services systems.
• Strong problem-solving ability to resolve coordination and design issues.
• Comfortable carrying out field surveys and verification.
• Experience developing 3D coordination models and structural layouts for clash avoidance.
• Able to produce builders' work schedules and associated drawings.
• Skilled in producing 2D/3D design drawings, prefabrication isometrics and detail drawings.
