Protocol Education are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Engagement Coach to join a supportive setting in Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire, working with small groups of children with additional needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys helping children build confidence, develop their skills and engage positively in their environment.
The Role
You will provide one-to-one and small-group support, helping children to participate in activities and overcome barriers to engagement.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting small groups of children with additional needs
- Encouraging positive engagement and participation
- Building strong, supportive relationships with pupils
- Supporting communication, social skills and independence
- Helping deliver engaging and appropriate activities
- Providing consistent and patient support
- Responding positively to individual needs and behaviours
- Working collaboratively with the wider team
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be:
- Compassionate, patient and understanding
- Enthusiastic about supporting children
- Confident working with children who have additional needs
- Calm and positive when faced with challenging situations
- Creative and adaptable in their approach
- Reliable, professional and committed
- Able to work effectively as part of a team
Experience within SEND, schools, childcare, youth work or similar settings is desirable, but not essential. Protocol Education are particularly interested in people who have the right personality, attitude and passion for supporting children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
