An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and growing SME housebuilder based in South Wales.
The business has built an excellent reputation delivering high-quality private open market residential developments and continues to operate successfully in this sector. Alongside this, they have recently secured a number of new social housing developments, creating a strong and diverse pipeline of work for the coming years.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a close-knit commercial team where you will play a key role in the successful delivery of projects from procurement through to final account, while supporting the continued growth of the business.
The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of residential developments, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, profitably and to the highest standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the commercial performance of residential developments from procurement through to final account.
- Preparing budgets, forecasts and CVRs.
- Procuring subcontract packages and managing subcontractor relationships.
- Reviewing subcontractor valuations, payments and final accounts.
- Pricing and agreeing variations.
- Monitoring costs, identifying risks and maximising commercial opportunities.
- Producing accurate commercial reports.
- Working closely with site teams, technical departments and senior management throughout the build process.
- Providing commercial support and guidance within the wider project team.
About You
- Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within residential construction or housebuilding.
- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
- Experience managing residential developments from procurement through to completion.
- Experience across private housing, affordable housing or social housing would be advantageous.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work autonomously within an SME environment.
- Full UK driving licence.
