How overtime pay is calculated

The hourly rate comes from the salary, the premium from the contract.

Hourly rate
Monthly gross divided by the monthly hours (hours per week × 52 / 12). On £2,500 and 37.5 hours that is £15.38.
Premium
UK law sets no overtime rate: the average pay over the pay reference period must only stay at or above the National Minimum Wage. Contracts commonly pay time and a quarter, time and a half or double time.
Working Time Regulations
You cannot be required to work more than 48 hours a week on average unless you opted out, and you keep the right to rest breaks and 5.6 weeks' leave.
